We Need Your
Front Pages
To wrap up
our election coverage, Poynter.org wants to display newspaper front
pages from across the country to give journalists a glimpse of election
coverage and design from around the county. We also want our readers
to get an idea about the kind of thinking that goes into designing
an important page like the presidential election page.
If you would
like to be a part of our effort, here's what you need to do:
- E-mail
us at feedback@poynter.org
telling us that you will participate. We need to get a good count
of what we can expect.
- After your
paper goes to bed on election night, send us a PDF (Portable Document
Format) of the front page with 1 to 2 paragraphs describing why
the page was designed as it was. We would like you to focus specifically
on the election content, unless there are other issues more important
that you think might help our readers learn.
Or
You can
make your page available to us by uploading it to your website
as a PDF. Please notify us by email where we can find the document,
and don't forget to include your 1- to 2-paragraph description.
We will be
at Poynter.org headquarters from about 9 p.m. Nov. 7 and into the
next day, so feel free to give us a call at (888) POYNTER.
We look forward
to hearing from designers from large and small papers. The more
diversity the better and more true the representation will be.
Thank you,
Rochelle Lewis

Poynter.org wants your election pages. We want
as many front pages as possible from around the country to display
the day after election. All you need to do is send your page and
