Winners' Comments:
"It's quite an honor. I know a lot of people enter these contests and there are a lot of good pictures out there. I'm glad the judges liked mine.. . . We cover community news at our paper pretty extensively and I was assigned to shoot at a show featuring African-American and Caribbean-Amercian dancers at a community center. I just hung out in the front row with a wide-angle lens and tried different techniques. Everything just kind of came together in that frame."

-- Michael Laughlin

Overall Judges' Comments:
"I love it. In this excellent exposure of this African dancer, the photographer gets the magic of it all. It's good composition with excellent aesthetics of the movements."

--Horacio Villalobos
