City Paper was very much influenced by its approach in 2001. This new cover is a deliberate sequel; the type is similar and sits on the image much as it did last year. The difference is that last year's cover, with an alarming, red duotone, was cinematic, while this one is more straightfoward and journalistic. While other papers aimed for emotional impact, this one is more informational. There is much detail to be seen in the image. Maybe that's appropriate, given that this is a weekly with a mission distinct from that of the mainstream dailies.
