POINTS SOUTH is the publication of the The Poynter Institute's 2002 Summer Fellowship for College Graduates. The six-week fellowship is an exploration of journalism through visual and written storytelling.

Thirty-four fellows are chosen to participate in the program, which chronicles 17 communities in south St. Petersburg, Fla.

The visual journalism program is led by George Rorick and Andrew DeVigal. Reporters and writers are led by Chip Scanlan and Christine Martin.
