| After
graduating in May from Appalachian State University in Boone,
N.C., Kristin descended the small mountain community to take
part in an even smaller one at The Poynter Institute as one
of 17 news reporting and writing summer fellows. With a bachelor’s
degree in journalism and a one-year stint as a beat reporter
for Appalachian’s biweekly newspaper, Kristin hopes to hone
the craft of reporting through hands-on experience and close
work with Poynter professionals. |
