| Jim
Korpi grew up in a small town about a stone's throw from the
thriving metropolitan capital of New Hampshire, Concord, population
40,687. Just before Poynter's visual program, Jim took photographs
for the Concord Monitor
and the Portsmouth
Herald, also in New Hampshire. Prior to working for
these dailies, Jim graduated from the University of New Hampshire
in December 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in English/Journalism.
As a requirement for the University of New Hampshire's journalism
program, Jim did a writing/photography internship for the Herald
during the summer of 2001. In his freshman year at UNH, Jim
took over as photo editor of The
New Hampshire, a student-run newspaper, until his senior
year when he focused solely on taking photographs. |
