Katy
Murphy received her B.A. in Anthropology from the University
of Notre Dame in 2000. After interning for the South Bend
Tribune, she moved to Catano, Puerto Rico, where she worked
with community leaders to promote empowerment and freelanced
with the Tribune. Fluent in Spanish, Katy hopes to
combine her passions for language and journalism after completing
the Poynter program.
