native of Kansas City, Mo., Chris Royer graduated from the University
of Missouri’s School of Journalism in May 2002. He studied visual
journalism emphasizing storytelling that unifies words, images,
graphics and design. While in school, Chris worked for a community
newspaper in Columbia, Mo., and designed for the alternative
weekly magazine there. He also interned with Western Michigan’s
Shoreline Media, reporting, designing and shooting for its two
weekly newspapers. After Poynter’s summer fellowship, Chris
will seek a newspaper design position. |
